Board Position: Captain

PURPOSE:

To support the management team in their goals and objectives while promoting and supporting the vision statement.

VISION:

Provide the best member club experience through excellence in service, course condition, food quality and member comradery.

SCOPE OF POSITION

The captain is responsible for the effective operations of the Board members and its goals and objectives with a key focus on member engagement. This includes, monthly meetings, member-controlled events, and Men’s Night. The captain will oversee the use of the prize fund budget as well as the Men’s Night budget to ensure its use in supporting the over membership and its major contributors.

General Responsibilities:

• With the assistance of the board select Men’s night gifting, prizing and weekly format.
• Coordinate the weekly schedule for 50/50 collection.
• Coordinate the weekly schedule for the Men’s Night registration.
• Assist with Men’s Night announcements to members.
• Secure weekly/yearlong Member Sponsorship for Men’s Night.
• Assist with the planning and running of the Men’s Night Final.
• Assist in getting members to sign up for Men’s Night and other Greystone events.
• Support all Greystone staff with their responsibilities.
• Support all Board Members to ensure they are adhering to their areas of responsibility.
• Handle member’s complaints and issues, working closely with the Greystone management.
• Help in the securing of new Board Members.
• Chair with the Director of Operations all Board Meetings.
• Approve budgets for Men’s Club events including Men’s Night.
• Assist and support the Head Professional on Interclub and Club Competitions.
• Provide Member Feedback to the Greystone Management Team.
• Play in Club Captain Events within ClubLink.

Shared Responsibilities:

• Promote a positive image of Greystone.
• Provide Member Feedback to the Greystone Management Team and Advisory board.
• Try to participate in Club Captain Events within ClubLink.
• Support, talk and assist all members when required.
• Support Men’s Night program including 50/50 fundraiser, promotion of sponsor nights and special events.
• Help in promoting the business and Vision Statement of Greystone Golf Club.
• Always be promoting the club to potential new club members and club events to current members.
