Purpose & Vision Statement

Purpose:

To support the management team in their goals and objectives while promoting and supporting the vision statement.

Vision Statement:

Provide the best member club experience through excellence in service, course condition, food quality and member comradery.

Vivid Description:

  • Have a full membership of over 400 active members.
  • Strive for sold out golf and social events.
  • Have 80% of the Men’s Day participants to socialize at the club following golf.
  • Members will enjoy a golf experience and course conditions that are similar to traditional private clubs in the area.
  • Members will jealously guard the values and standards of the Greystone experience.
  • Members will want to bring their children, family members, friends and associates in as members.
  • The dining facility will be a destination for an evening out with family/friends/spouse.

Advisory Board Member’s Key Responsibilities:

Inform. The Greystone Management Team will inform the Advisory Board Members on a monthly basis on major operational issues. A presentation from each department head at the monthly meeting will update the Advisory Board on departmental practices. The Advisory Board Members are then to share this information with other Advisory Board Members as appropriate. The Handicap Committee will update the Advisory Board no less than twice a year on initiatives, challenges, etc. The Advisory Board will assist the Handicap Committee in their goals as well as communication to ensure fair and equitable competition.

Influence. From time to time the Management Team will be looking to the Advisory Board for advice on operational practices as well as long-range planning. On these occasions management will be looking for input to help guide and direct these projects and initiatives.

Approve. The Advisory Board will approve the use of all men’s day funds, including annual fees, weekly funds and sponsorships. The Advisory Board will also allocate the prize fund money to support events that help drive value and member participation.

Advisory Board Member’s Rights and Responsibilities:

Professional Conduct. Staff and Advisory Board Members will always engage in respectful conversations with all members irrespective of the difficulty of the conversation. The Advisory Board Members will support each other and the decisions that are made by the Club Management and the Advisory Board. No personal objective or agenda will be supported by the Advisory Board under any circumstance.

Job Ownership. All positions will be supported with a job description that will list in detail the requirements. Each member of the Advisory Board will then hold each other Advisory Board Members to the commitments and responsibilities as listed in the approved job description. Each Advisory Board Member will be expected to work with the corresponding club manager outside the monthly meeting in an effort to streamline communication and increase role effectiveness.

Ethics and Club Support. Advisory Board Members will actively support the club and participate in as many events as possible. Advisory Board Members will support one another in all decisions and direction taken by the Advisory Board.

Equality and Fairness. Each Advisory Board Member will treat all Greystone Members the same. No personal agenda or special rules for any individual members.

Unwavering Commitment to Member Satisfaction. The Advisory Board purpose is to support and provide inclusive membership. The Advisory Board must recognize that there are different member demographics.

Position Overview:

Captain – Oversee all the Advisory Board activities and support all Club events.

Vice Captain – Assist Golf Captain as directed. Help with events such as, the Member Guest, Captain’s Cup and Member/Member, while coordinating with the Head Pro.

Past Captain – Assist with Member Events and provide guidance where required.

Competition – Help develop event formats including Men’s Day, 9 & Dine.

Finance – Oversee and audit Men’s Day and other events funds including sponsorship, annual fee, weekly fee, 50/50, Hole-in-one, and any other revenues and expenses associated with Men’s Day.

Governance – Advisory Board compliance and accountability.

Marketing – Develop marketing strategies and materials for member events under the purview of the committee.

Secretary – Take minutes, help organize the Advisory Board agenda, support other Advisory Board Members as required.

Sponsorship Raise funds for Men’s Day and the Greystone Membership, provide value to the membership, create engagement programs and opportunities for sponsors.
