Board Position: Past Captain

PURPOSE:

To support the management team in their goals and objectives while promoting and supporting the vision statement. 

VISION:

Provide the best member club experience through excellence in service, course condition, food quality and member comradery.

SCOPE OF POSITION

The past captain is responsible to support and assist in the effective operations of the Board, Board Members and members with its goals and objectives, with a key focus on member engagement. This includes any monthly meeting, member-controlled events, Men’s Day and whereas directed by the Club Captain or the Management at Greystone Golf Club. The past captain will provide guidance, assistance and mentorship to the captain, vice-captain and any advisory board member. 

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist, provide guidance and provide feedback for the board on all aspects of Men’s day including gifting, prizing, sponsorships, and weekly formats.
  • Assist in securing sponsorships for the various sponsorship packages for the entire golf season.
  • Assist in running and collecting money for the Men’s Day 50-50 draw.
  • Make all bank deposits for money collected at Men’s Day, and for any special draw events.
  • Assist with the planning and running of the Men’s Day Finale.
  • Assist in getting members to sign up for Men’s Day and other Greystone events.
  • Support all Greystone staff with their responsibilities.
  • Support and assist when requested, all Advisory Board Members to ensure they are adhering to their areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with member’s complaints and issues, as directed by the Golf Captain and or the Greystone Management.
  • Help in the securing of new Advisory Board Members.
  • Attend all Advisory Board Meetings, and any other meetings as directed by the Golf Captain, Vice-Captain or Greystone Management.
  • Assist with budgets for the Club events including Men’s Day.
  • Assist and support the Golf Captain and Greystone Management with Club competitions and events.
  • Provide Member Feedback to the Advisory Board and Greystone Management Team.
  • Play in Club Events within Club Link, and outside of Club Link.

Shared Responsibilities:

  • Promote a positive image of Greystone.
  • Provide Member Feedback to the Greystone Management Team and Advisory board.
  • Try to participate in all Greystone events.
  • Support, talk and assist all members when required.
  • Help in promoting the business and Vision Statement of Greystone Golf Club.
  • Always be promoting the club to potential new club members and club events to current members.
