Board Position: Communications

PURPOSE:

To support the management team in their goals and objectives while promoting and supporting the vision statement.

 

VISION:

Provide the best member club experience through excellence in service, course condition, food quality and member comradery.

 

SCOPE OF POSITION

Communications is responsible to ensure effective communications from the Greystone Management Team, Staff & Advisory Board to the membership. This includes communication of club events activities, Men’s Night activities & other activities as supported by the club and/or the membership.

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communications

  • Content Strategy & Population of the GS website to incorporate all club activities
  • Advise & Support GS Staff with communications to the membership
  • Advise & Support GS Advisory Board with communications to membership

Website

  • Advise & Support GS Staff population of the website to ensure it’s relevant
  • Train & Support GS Advisory Board on the use of website
  • Train & Support GS Staff in a weekly email “Greystone this week”
  • Train & Support GS Turf Staff in utilization of blog “Turfs Up”
  • Implement Greystone photo aggregator on the URL greystonegolf.ca #greystonegolf

Social Media

  • Advise & Support GS social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram)
  • Train & Support GS Staff on the use of social media & #hashtags
  • Train & Support GS Advisory Board on the use of social media & #hashtags
  • Encourage & Support GS membership with social media & #hashtags

Advisory Board

  • Attend monthly GS Advisory Board meetings
  • Support GS Management Team in its effort to provide a positive membership experience
  • Communicating back to board and/or management any public comments and concerns

Shared Responsibilities:

  • Promote a positive image of Greystone.
  • Provide Member Feedback to the Greystone Management Team and Advisory board.
  • Try to participate in Club Captain Events within ClubLink.
  • Support, talk and assist all members when required.
  • Support Men’s Night program including 50/50 fundraiser, promotion of sponsor nights and special events.
  • Help in promoting the business and Vision Statement of Greystone Golf Club.
  • Always be promoting the club to potential new club members and club events to current members.
